Accommodation with private facilities
Private facilities means that you have your own home. You do not have to share facilities such as a kitchen, bathroom and/or toilet with other tenants. You have your own place with your own front door. This can be a studio, flat or family house. The rent of an accommodation with private facilities is often higher than the rent of a room in a group. However, you can often qualify for a rental allawance from the central government. Accommodation with shared facilities
You will share facilities in your house with other tenants. You do not have your own front door and often share the living room, kitchen and/or bathroom with others. You do have your own room in which you sit, study/work and sleep. Accommodation with shared facilities can be found in single-family houses, but also in apartment buildings, where a flat is divided into several rooms. It is also possible that an entire floor of a flat has been converted for a group. The number of housemates varies per house/group. Often large groups have several toilets and/or bathrooms.
